I Tried Lucky Girl Syndrome for a Week – Did It Work?

Introduction

“Lucky Girl Syndrome” is the latest TikTok trend that claims you can manifest good things simply by believing you’re lucky. The idea is that if you repeatedly affirm, “Everything always works out for me,” the universe will conspire in your favor. It sounds too good to be true, right?

I decided to put it to the test. For one week, I followed the Lucky Girl mindset, affirming positive outcomes and believing that luck was on my side. I tracked three specific things I wanted to manifest and recorded whether they actually happened. Here’s how it went.

Setting My Intentions

At the beginning of the experiment, I wrote down three things I wanted to attract into my life:

1. A New Opportunity – Whether it was work-related or personal, I wanted something exciting to come my way.

2. Unexpected Money – A random cash inflow, whether through a refund, a gift, or a surprise payment.

3. A Happy, Stress-Free Week – I wanted to avoid unnecessary stress and have everything go smoothly.

Every morning, I repeated affirmations like “I am the luckiest person in the world” and “Everything is working in my favor.” I visualized myself receiving good news and went about my day with the belief that things would fall into place.

Daily Experiences & Results

Day 1-2: Feeling Optimistic

At first, I felt a shift in my mindset. I approached situations with more confidence, assuming things would work out. While nothing major happened. I felt lighter and more positive.

Day 3: Small Wins Start Appearing

On the third day, I received an unexpected discount while shopping online. It wasn’t a huge sum, but it was something! Later that day, I got a message about a freelance project I had forgotten about—it wasn’t a big opportunity, but it was still work coming my way.

Day 4-5: A Surprising Turn

I received a refund from a company due to an overcharge I hadn’t even noticed before. This felt like a direct hit on my “unexpected money” goal. At this point, I was fully enjoying the process, even though I couldn’t say for sure if it was manifestation or just coincidence.

Day 6-7: A Smooth Ending

The last two days were surprisingly stress-free. Tasks that I had expected to be complicated went smoothly. A meeting I was worried about got postponed, and I felt like I was in the right place at the right time all week.

Does Lucky Girl Syndrome Work?

While I didn’t suddenly win the lottery or get life-changing news, I did notice that expecting good things made me feel better. Some positive events happened, but were they because of my mindset or just normal life?

Here’s what I learned:

Your Mindset Matters – When you believe good things will happen, you naturally approach situations with more confidence.

Luck vs. Awareness – I may have been more aware of positive things happening because I was looking for them.

It’s Not Magic, But It Helps – Lucky Girl Syndrome didn’t drastically change my life, but it made me more optimistic, which in turn influenced my experiences.

Final Verdict: Myth or Truth?

I wouldn’t call it a myth, but it’s not a superpower either. Lucky Girl Syndrome is less about luck and more about mindset. If you believe good things will happen, you’re more likely to notice and take advantage of them. So, while it won’t work miracles, it can definitely help shift your perspective in a positive way.
Would I do it again? Absolutely! If nothing else, it’s a great way to start the day.
